Huge 'Godzilla' Lizard Terrorizes 7-Eleven As It Climbs Up Walls, Invades Fridges

The monitor lizard drops down onto a fridge at 7-Eleven."I was mesmerized by the lizard," onlooker Buntita, 20, told viral press of the critter's scaly shopping spree.ViralPress/Buntita r.

Thankfully, the lizard was "friendly" and "didn't hurt anybody," according to a college student, who said the massive mart-y crasher was eventually removed from the scene.

Monitor lizards can reportedly grow up to 8 feet long, making them the world's second-largest lizard after the Komodo dragon, according to

Everything Reptiles.

Fortunately, despite their massive size, the opportunistic predators don't pose a threat to adult humans, instead choosing to feast on everything from eggs to small mammals and carrion, according to experts at the

University of Michigan Museum of Zoology. (However, a dead infant was found partially eaten by monitors in southern Thailand in May 2020.)  The monitor.Thankfully, no one was hurt during the lizard's shopping spree.ViralPress/Buntita r.

This isn't the first time one of these mammoth predators has caused mayhem at a mini-mart.

Dr Earyn McGee, a scientist who focuses on studying the reptiles, posted the mind boggling image to Twitter, now known as X.

She said: "Lizards, like this tree lizard, have incredible camo! But sometimes predators still see them.

"It's important that lizard habitats have crevices and vegetation that lizards can seek shelter in."

The image has gone viral as Twitter users scramble to find the lizard lurking amongst the wood.

Within the mangled dried tree roots, a tin can can be seen - but the lizard is much harder to be seen.

Did you manage to spot the elusive lizard?

If you were quick to spot it, why not try some of our other reptilian challenges?

In this photo, users were challenged to find the camouflaged sleeping lizard in just 15 seconds.

The lizard is snoozing in a habitat covered with bark and green vegetation dotted around.

Only those with superior vision can spot the lizard blending in perfectly among the bushes in under five seconds.

Although the challenge may seem difficult, it's definitely not impossible.

And this leafy green photo also has a lizard in its midst - but the challenge is made harder as you only have 10 seconds to spot the creature.

You have the eye of a marksman if you can spot the cleverly camouflaged sniper hiding in the undergrowth in this optical illusion.

Or you might just have the eyes of a sniper if you can spot the huge artillery gun expertly camouflaged in this forest.

Your time is up - did you spot the lizard in under 17 seconds?

Don't scroll yet if you want to give yourself a few extra seconds.

Don't worry if you still can't spot it, as we've circled the answer for you below and have provided some hints.

Take a closer look at the top of the dried wood, near the middle left of the photo.

You may see a darker part of the wood - but it's not part of the wood, it's the lizard.

Dr McGee said: "Hope you found that lizard and learned something new!"

Giant Lizard Scares People After Sneaking Into Thai Store

A large-sized lizard entered a Thai convenience store for shopping but frightened the people there as it ran amok spreading chaos among the shoppers in Nakhon Pathom.

Footage on social media went viral showing the giant reptile scaring people as it wandered over the fridge.

A 20-year-old onlooker told a news outlet that "she was mesmerised by the lizard," as the critter's scaly shopping spree, occurred on October 11 at a 7-Eleven in Thailand.

The egg-laying species inconspicuously found its way into the Thai store and was later spotted on the premises on a light fixture above the displays.

The video showed the giant lizard trying to find its way through near the lights on the ceiling before falling onto a fridge, leaving the onlookers shocked.

"It just came from nowhere and started walking across the food fridge," exclaimed Buntita.

It was fortunate that it was a friendly lizard and no one was hurt as a result according to a college student, who said the massive reptile was eventually removed from the Thai store.

The monitor lizards are said to grow as much as 8 feet long, making them the world's second-largest lizard after the Komodo dragon, Everything Reptiles noted.

According to experts at the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology, fortunately, despite their massive size, the opportunistic predators don't pose a threat to adult humans, instead choosing to feast on everything from eggs to small mammals and carrion.

Despite this, there was an incident, according to a New York Post report in which an infant was found partially eaten by monitors in southern Thailand in May 2020.

It was not the first time the lizard was spotted among the people causing chaos among the shoppers inside a store.

In 2021, there was an enormous Asian water monitor spotted inside a store trying to climb upward, damaging the shelves in Bangkok.
